In literature and film
Adam Oehlenschläger wrote his drama Aladdin in 1805. Carl Nielsen wrote incidental music for this play.
This tale has been adapted to animated film a number of times, including Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp, the 1939 Popeye the Sailor cartoon. As well as in 1982 when Media Home Entertainment released Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp. Possibly, the most recognized version which could be credited for the commercialization of the medieval tale is Aladdin, the 1992 animated feature by Walt Disney Feature Animation. There is also a hotel and casino in Las Vegas named Aladdin.
